(February 11, 2002) – The chairman of Randall Publishing Co., H. Pettus Randall, III, today announced the promotion of F. Michael Reilly to president and chief executive officer and Mack J. Ogren to chief operating officer. Randall, who previously held the title of chairman and CEO, will focus exclusively on directing the company's long-term business strategy and growth opportunities. "I attribute much of the growth and success our company has enjoyed to the vision and energy of these two men," says Randall. "Under their leadership, Randall Publishing is well positioned to achieve its financial goals and to continue to expand into new markets." Prior to his promotion, Reilly held the position of president and COO beginning in 1984. He also served as president and publisher of Overdrive and Equipment World magazines, and as Randall's vice president of sales and marketing. Under Reilly's direction, the company grew to $80 million in gross revenue and was named the sixth fastest-growing and 22nd largest publishing company in the nation by Folio magazine. Ogren previously served as Randall's executive vice president and chief financial officer. Along with Reilly, Ogren was instrumental in the successful purchase of Cahners' Trucking Group last year, a move that further solidified Randall's dominance of the trucking industry. Before joining Randall in 1993, Ogren was a partner at Jessup, Palmer and Associates, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and spent 19 years as a CPA. He has served as chairman of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and as the local chapter president. He is a member of the Finance Committee for the American Business Media. Both Reilly and Ogren are active in the community. Reilly serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, United Way, West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, Theatre Tuscaloosa, North River Yacht Club and South Trust Bank. Ogren serves on the Board of Directors for Focus on Senior Citizens, the Salvation Army and the YMCA. He is on the mayor's committee representing the Character First! Program. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Reilly was born in Atlanta and raised in Montgomery, Ala. He and his wife, Debbie, have lived in Tuscaloosa for 25 years and have three children: Brent, Fran and Katie. The family is active in St. Francis Catholic Parish. Ogren attended the University of Virginia and Christian Brothers College, before graduating from the University of Memphis in 1973. He and his wife, Janice, live in Tuscaloosa. They have four children: Kristina, Jeffrey, Wendy and Jackie. Ogren and his family are active members of Grace Church.
