F. Michael Reilly is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Randall-Reilly Publishing Company in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He began working at Randall-Reilly while a student at the University of Alabama. Upon graduating, he joined Randall Publishing Company full-time working closely with the company’s chief executive officer, Pettus Randall III. Excluding two and a half years at Gulf Publishing Company in Houston, Texas, Mike has spent his entire career with Randall.

Founded in 1934, Randall-Reilly Publishing Company publishes more than 35 magazines, directories, periodicals, websites, custom publications, a data company, and produces trade shows. Now, Mike has more than 30 years experience managing and investing in business-2-business media, data and information companies, and event businesses. He has been responsible for growing the 35 publications websites, events, and data products.

Mike has been involved in his over 30 years at Randall-Reilly in dozens of start ups and acquisitions. Along with his strategic vision and relationship building, he has gained the company additional market share and has strengthened its platforms in the construction, trucking, and industrial industries.

Under Mike’s leadership, Randall-Reilly has under gone a transformation and become an innovative business-2-business information company. Mike was promoted to president and chief executive officer in February of 2002 after serving as president since 1984 and president and chief operating officer since 1987. Prior to that, he was president and publisher of both Overdrive and Equipment World magazines and vice president of sales and marketing for the entire Randall Publishing Company. He directed a major reorganization of the company in 1984 and 1994, and in 2005 along with Wachovia Capital Partners purchased Randall Publishing Company from the Randall family. In February 2008 Mike and his management team partnered with Investcorp to buy the equity of Wachovia Capital Partners. Under Mike’s direction over the years, the company has experienced phenomenal growth reaching more than $75 million in revenue and employees more than 400 associates with offices in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Chicago, Charlotte, and Milwaukee.

Mike currently serves on the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Birmingham Branch and in 2009 he will be chairman of the board of the Birmingham Branch. Mike also serves on the President’s Cabinet at the University of Alabama, the Commerce & Business Administration Board of Visitors at the University of Alabama, he served on the board of directors and has been chairman of the board for the Boys & Girls Club, United Way of West Alabama, and also has served on the board of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, North River Yacht Club, and American Business Media in New York.

Mike enjoys walking, jogging, bike riding, college sports (especially football and basketball), and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends on the gulf coast of Alabama.

He’s an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church at the University of Alabama, and is a participant in the Kairos Prison Ministry.
